It's near the end of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month -- Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve -- when occurrences of impaired driving and related accidents are expected to uptick. But DWI courts work year-round to address this threat to personal health and public safety.
In just 2015 alone, New Mexico's Bernalillo County DWI Recovery Court led 150 graduates into long-term sobriety and saved taxpayers nearly $3 million dollars. Even better? 93% of the program's graduates are not arrested again.
